I would give zero stars. I am a pro and work with other brands and my distributor had Hot heads in store for purchase. I decided to give it a try due to trust a professional store front for professionals. It isn’t remy quality hair. Spending $680 for 3 packages of tape in 20” extensions. After a couple washes the hair is unmanageable, course, and mats. This resembles quality of synthetic fibers mixed in or not really remy hair but a lower quality. It is to the point that after a few hours of wearing a person must brush to get all the tangles and matting under control. Over use of oils is needed to counteract the dry feeling of the hair. This causes the hair to look dirty and feel gross. Avoid these extensions. I’ve had best luck with Babe and Bellamy. The store is unaware of this lack of quality, when I brought it up, “thanks for the feed back”

Unacceptable

DO NOT GET THIS HAIR WHATEVER YOU DO. After the first blow dry my hair was crispy. It was splitting and dry after a week and I spent $300. Do not buy cheap hair you will regret it. I have been crying for weeks trying to figure out how to repair it and the customer service is awful. I use very high quality products because my sister is a cosmetologist so I have taken great care of the hair. Please invest in better hair because you will deeply regret getting this hair. I got the weft extensions. They are clearly using bad hair.

I LOVE this extension line. I’ve been using extensions for a long time and I’ve tried pretty much every brand out there. Hotheads has been a game changer. HIghly recommend.

This has Been The ABSOLUTE WORST COMPANY TO WORK WITH. Never, for the love of God, Please Never use them. They cost me money every time because colors are never in stock. Then they charge me $30-60 more than expected to just ship hair directly from HH to my salon. The company never apologizes or compensated for their irresponsibility as a company. They then run out of hair completely at times, then expects you to order hair in other lengths that cost Way More Money than you have charged your client for and then they expect you to eat the cost. Their customer service is atrocious. This has been the absolute worst extension experience with HH extensions and SSG. Both deserve a BIG ZERO.

Horrible hair quality in two weeks the ends were looking horrible strawy tangled in little knots you have to cut off. The hair looks so cheap. My hair stylist thought I paid 25 for the hair I told her I paid 400 she said take a pic of the hair and return the worst type of extensions she had ever seen. The worst hair they must be giving out bad batches of hair and it’s such a rip off just to rip customers off and get rid of the hair and of course you can’t return in. Save yourself the hassle and go with another company for extensions and don’t let this company rip you off in 2020. I bought hair from them in 2017 and it was okay I liked it because it curled but it seems like now they are just shipping out bad hair to get rid of it since 2020 and companies are looking to get rid of everything just to make a quick buck.

My stylist used tape in hotheads extensions, the first set were ok. The ends do dry out fast and using a moisturizing oil on the end is a must! My second set of extensions are a disaster! They are breaking and shedding like crazy. They look raggedy and now I have to spend more money to replace them. My stylist will not be using hotheads. This time we will be trying Babe, crossing my fingers the quality is better. I only wish I could post a picture of what my lap looks like after brushing my extensions with the recommended brush, it is shocking to see the amount of shedding and breakage. I only use Oribe hair products and use a wig brush.

I used Hotheads for awhile as they were one of the only brands sold by my distributor. The sandwiches are small and are extremely thick. I was also told that the fashion colors had synthetic hair in them. While they fufilled their role in the past, they are no longer of service to me.

Worst extensions and customer service I’ve ever experienced. They tangle, feel like straw, the tape slips and rips in half after your first use. The price is ridiculous. I spent $800 on tape ins from the company only to experience all these problems and they refuse to do anything for me.

When I’ve used to use this brand, there was no consistency in the hair quality received. One would assume the platinum/pastel fashion colors would come in a more “processed” texture-but, I actually had better luck with those than a natural brunette color I ordered! I had to order 3 packs, 2 times for someone and although the issues were improved, they were far from high quality. Hard time blending the hair into fine/normal density/slightly textured hair because the extension were SO coarse, and she’d SO MUCH. Tabs were always gooey and slid in anyone who heat styled regularly. Always had a tough time getting the goo off of everything in a removal service.

We used Hot Heads in our salon and they took a while to put in and take out and on half of our guests who used them, the whole panel of extension disintegrated while taking tape off to move them up.

I’ve had my extensions for 13 days. I’ve only washed them three times and i’ve experiences MAJOR tangles and extreme shedding. I paid over $330 for this hair and it felt AMAZING after the application and then after the washes it feels dry and brittle like fake hair. I messaged HotHeads on instagram and they were rude and want me to send the hair back. No. They’re attached to my head. Either refund me or send me new hair. I am a licensed professional so I use very good products and know how to properly take care of extensions and they said this isn’t normal. I’m so disappointed in HotHeads customer service. Will not be a returning customer.

The construction on the actual panels leave much to be desired. They hair sheds and the panels are to bulky with the tape. You can not in good conscious use these over and over again on your client because it will look awful. Not my favorite

I have heard about the tape in extensions for a while so I decided to try them out. I took a certification class so I can feel confident in putting them in. It was an investment but now I am confident that it was worth it. My clients love them and they are so easy to put it and take out and re-install. I am loving their new colors. They are my biggest money maker.

Looooove Hotheads! For the amazing quality and the super fast application process! Wouldn’t change them at all. They feel great… and they don’t damage my hair like other brands I have used in the past. Highly recommended!

My favorite extension line!! I’ve tried many different methods and companies and Hotheads has the best quality, color options, and reusability. I could not be happier with the brand and would recommend it to anyone looking for an amazing tape extension experience. I’ve been using their new colormelt colors which are absolutely beautiful !!!!

Hotheads Hair Extensions are great for Volume, Length or Color. They have several options to choose from and no matter what the occasion, these tape-in extensions make you look beautiful. The application process is easy. In and out of the chair in less then an hour. Not only that but you can get beautiful hair in minutes with their product “The Band” that is easy to apply through your stylist or on your own, but they have so many different colors. Some that melt into one another and give you a strikingly different look. You have to try Hotheads. Its the best tape in extension out there. You can also get some great inspiration on their Instagram and Facebook pages. Thank you Hotheads for always making me feel wonderful!

I have pretty thin fluffy colorntreated hair that tangles very easily. It doesnt grow long so extensions are my only option. I had done sew ins which damaged and dreaded my hair. I have tried glue ins which also damaged and ruined my hair. I have tried cheap amazon bought tape ins because i was told tape in is better for your hair. Success! They stayed in. But FAIL. They dreaded my hair and were impossible to remove. Not only that, but they fell apart when removed and were not worth reusing. Now cue hot heada hair. After my salon recommended these were worth it i gave them a try. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. ive never got so many compliments ever. The bright red and burgundy colors with pops of peach were so beautiful. The hair is such good quality. I can ride my horse/sweat/ do crazy challenges in Thailand humidity. These things stayed IN. When it was time for removal they didnt rip my hair out/dread/fall apart. And they are totally reusable. You get what you pay for. I went super long red mermaid hair and i put it through the ringer. They stayed in and stayed beautiful until they grew out. I cant recommend enough.

No complaints – Love this product for my clients that have an ombre as a lot of companies don’t have a wide color selection.

This was the first tape in extension I used and although I love their tape I hate their hair and their customer service!!! The quality of the hair is so inconsistent that I cannot use it anymore. You cannot peel the tape off the panel without the panels ripping; the company just wants me to put new tape over old tape which just gets to thick and too heavy for my thin hair clients. They do not stand behind their product and everything is my fault!! Although they have a lot of colors the blends are few and some of their melts don’t look natural. Not a fan!

I wore and used hotheads hair extensions for my clients for about 1 1/2. Other than the ease of the application and move ups, this extension line was not my favorite. I felt that the hair quality only looked good for one application and even in the beginning it wasn’t as silky smooth as other products I’ve used. The bonds tend to look a little like scotch tape and do not blend seemlessly with the hair. I also was not a fan of the fact that during the maintenance (move ups) you layer the tape on top of the old tape instead of removing the old tape. This causes the tape to become somewhat bulky like chiclets after the 2nd move up. Hotheads also has an issue with color/length availability. They are always back ordered on the most popular colors, they suggest making and blending to create the same affect of what you initially order, unfortunately they are usually out of that too. One other this I would like to add about hotheads is that they are very against stylists with barbers licenses using their brand. I am indeed a barber and a very talented one, as are many of my fellow stylists. My licensing hours are the same as a cosmetologist. Hotheads, not a brand I will be recommending to my clients:)

I used Hot Heads for several months. This was the first tape-in method I tried on myself and on my clients. The education was fair, I became certified with the rest of my salon after a 2 hour class demonstrating the suggested panel application and reapplication process. I thought the price point for a full head of extensions was good for the amount of hair you get. At first the hair felt great, thick and full but then I experienced a lot of shedding with myself and noticeably on my clients within the first 6 weeks. Even though the price for this hair was good, I didn’t like how much hair was coming out. I want the hair to stay in the panels, not shed and slip out. As a stylist I was happy with the initial look and feel of Hot Heads but I was unhappy with the longevity and the feel of the hair after 6 weeks. I think this hair is good for short term use, but would need to buy new hair very often.

HotHeads was the first brand of tape in extensions we started carrying at the Hair Bar. Intitally it was because of their education classes allowed for all of my stylists to become certified easily and quickly. What we did not like was how the quality of hair decreased with the lighter the color of hair (more processed the hair, the worse the hair felt). This lead to splitting and breakage, as well as shedding. Hot Head is always on trend with colors and trend leading others to keep up. We still carry them and are a second go to for those who have “mixed” or blended hair.

I’ve styled and colored some of my clients with this brand of extensions in and the one dislike I had was the width of the tape is a lot shorter than my favorite brand! And so you have to add a lot of sandwiches.
Another dislike was the tape consistency. Seems shiny and visible.

Thanks !

I love the hot heads tape the only tape that I’ve used that I like the best I hate that the shed so much and the bond on top didn’t break down so quick and the prices keep going up every year but the costumer service is great

This is the first tape system that I brought into the salon. We had an in salon class, this was a great way to learn, the one really big component of the class that was missing was the removal and reinstallation side of things.
I found that they seemed to be too disposable, with the hair shedding far too much in my mind to justify spending the money.
My biggest challenges were that we were encouraged to have “Hair on hand” so when this hair was installed and had issues, it was already out of warranty. Something that we were led to believe started when the client had it applied. Over all disappointed with the shedding as well as the quality felt worse, the lighter you went.
I do not believe that I will be utilizing this system unless they make some changes.
