When someone first starts to use purple shampoo, we recommend using it every other time you wash your hair. After seeing those results, you can adjust from there. Some people use purple shampoo once a week to adjust for brassy-ness, others use it every day. The usage of purple shampoo depends on your hair type and the amount of yellow you’re trying to fight.
If you’re mostly blonde we recommend letting your purple shampoo sit for 5 minutes. This will remove any yellow tones and give you that icy cool look. If you’re not blonde or have blonde or caramel highlights you’ll only want to use it where you have lightened your hair. This will make your hair ashier and not so warm.
Do you use medicated shampoo? If so, you can just shampoo twice! Once your done using your medicated shampoo you can follow the normal instructions for your purple shampoo. Purple shampoos aren’t known for cleaning your scalp and are used for toning and color purposes.
Can you use it on your hair extensions? Yes, you can! Be sure to double check with your hair extension supplier but if the hair is 100% Remy Hair (the best ones are) then you should be 100% fine!
