When you’re a Bride, the first step is picking out your wedding dress. Once you’ve said yes to the dress, now it’s time to think about your wedding hairstyle and makeup. Hair Extensions can be a great addition to not only your wedding day hair but also all of the events leading up to your wedding, including your engagement party and rehearsal dinner. It’s super important to plan your wedding hair weeks before and do a trial run with hair and makeup. Below are tips for picking the right wedding hairstyle for your special day:
Find Inspiration
Luckily in today’s day and age, you have so many resources for inspiration for your big day! You can look in a bridal magazine or our favorite Pinterest to see what’s in style. Do you want an updo or something long and flowy? Have a few ideas to bring to your stylist and they will make the magic happen.
Consider Your Dress
What is your dress like? The biggest thing when choosing a wedding hairstyle is to make sure it doesn’t clash with your dress. Your wedding day hair should compliment your dress. If you’re more of a simple bride, you can choose a more dramatic hairstyle. If your dress is “Princess-like”, you can choose a more simple elegant updo. Also, consider your dress’ details, does it have an open back? Choose a long braid or ponytail.
What Season is it?
If you’re having a beautiful Spring/Summer wedding, maybe choose an updo so you don’t get too hot and so the weather won’t make your hair frizzy. If your wedding takes place in the Fall/Winter you’re safe with having your hair down, maybe with some flowy curls!
Your Natural Hair
When you’re finding a wedding hairstyle, it’s important to consider what your hair can actually do. If your hair is thin, you may not be able to pull off large embellishments because they will slip out. If you have a lot of hair, you may not be able to put all of it up.
Are You Wearing a Veil?
If you’re wearing a veil you will be limited in the hairstyles you can choose from. Some veils won’t work well with an updo. Keep in mind, if your budget allows, you can have two different hairstyles on your wedding day, one for the ceremony and one for the reception.
