My name is Marina Westover and I am a salon owner from Vero Beach, FL.
What has been your biggest challenge as a stylist?
With an average service ticket of $36 and retail ticket of $2.67, I felt my life slipping away and my career going nowhere. I was working six days a week behind the chair and too many hours to admit.
What was the biggest turning point in your career?
Finding tape in hair extensions. I was fortunate enough to find a company that had a strong focus on education for their stylists and a superior product for my guests. After being a model and experiencing the amazing results, I was hooked! My hair was full, long and the compliments kept coming! I couldn’t wait to share it with my guests.
How have your clients benefited from hair extensions?
Even though some of my regular strand by strand guests were reluctant at first, once they experienced even one panel in their hair, they too were hooked! My passion grew, and my creativity took over. Soon I was having other salons refer their extension clients to me!
Length, volume, color and so many other possibilities that were never available for some clients were now available in as little as twenty minutes. And most importantly for me, I could guarantee a safe, comfortable, undetectable and beautiful application. Needless to say, my guests don’t miss an appointment and can’t wait to tell their friends about me!
How have hair extensions impacted your life?
Today I have my life back, and I love paying it forward by helping other stylists achieve the same success I’ve enjoyed. I work three days a week behind the chair, and my average service ticket has increased to $169. Retailing is no longer a chore; it’s a way to help my guests protect their investment.
I can honestly say that tape in hair extensions have changed my life and the lives of many of my guests. The personal financial rewards have allowed me to be there for my three boys, grow my business and to focus on growing myself and others. And, as a bonus, I enjoy the hugs and smiling faces of my guests as they leave my chair with the confidence they never had before!
