Some people may think it looks like you work on a dairy farm while others consider this a staple hairstyle. Get the Look: Milkmaid Braids
Things you need:
- Two black or brown elastics (depending on your hair color)
- Bobby pins
Tips on how to get the look:
- Brush your hair completely so there are no knots
- Milkmaid braids look best with medium – long hair
- If you have a lot of layers, you will need more bobby pins
- Leave out your bangs or shorter front layers for a more relaxed look
Step-by-step instructions:
#1 Brush your hair.
#2 Separate your hair into two sections by parting your hair down the middle.
#3 If you have bangs or shorter front layers, you can leave those out for a less polished hairstyle.
#4 Braid your pigtails into two standard three-strand braids.
#5 Take one braid and place it on the top of your head and secure with a bobby pin.
#6 Take the other braid and place it on top of your head over the elastic of the other braid. Secure with a bobby pin.
#7 Tuck the braid underneath the other braid to hide the elastic.
#8 Use bobby pins to secure any loose hairs.
#9 Use hairspray for extra hold {optional}.
