You know that old saying “you are what you eat?” What you put into your body definitely shows, especially through your hair. Today, we are going to talk about what kinds of food will help transform your hair for the better.
Avocado
If there’s anything close to a miracle fruit, it is an avocado. Avocados are an amazing source of healthy fats which helps our overall health. This healthy unsaturated fat can help with blood sugar levels since it keeps our stomach full. Avocados also are important for our cognitive function, emotional health, and make our hair super happy! This miracle fruit contains Vitamin A, D, and E and omega-9 fatty acids. You can reap the benefits of avocados by using avocado oil in your daily cooking.
Pumpkin and Sunflower Seeds
Pumpkin and sunflower seeds may be tiny but they are packed with amazing benefits. Both of these seeds have iron which prevents hair loss. Pumpkin seeds are also super high in zinc, Vitamin A, and K and omega-3 fatty acids. Sunflower seeds are high in vitamin E which is good for getting blood flow to your scalp. You can eat these seeds raw or add them to your next salad!
Dark Leafy Vegetables
There is a reason why your Mom always told you to finish your vegetables. Dark leafy green vegetables are super high in iron which helps promote healthy hair growth from the scalp. Incorporating greens into your diet, like spinach, will help your hair stay moisturized because it is high in Vitamin A, iron, beta-carotene, folate, and vitamin C. If you don’t like spinach you can always try broccoli, arugula, or kale!
Sweet Potatoes
Sweet potatoes are incredible. They are super sweet and have an antioxidant called Beta Carotene. Beta Carotene gets converted to Vitamin A in our body which does wonders. Due to their natural sweetness, sweet potatoes are perfect just thrown into the oven to bake. You can also make a great mash from them!
