Find Your Unicorn Hair Color

Every day you see articles that promise to help you match your skin tone with the right hair color for you. Normally most articles try to match you with a color between the natural shades of hair.

But what about unicorn hair? Aka colored hair. If you’re craving a special pop of color but don’t know what color to pick, it can be hard. Just like natural hair colors, everyone has a unicorn hair color that’s right for them. Below is a guide to which pastel, jewel tone, or saturated deep shade will work for you.

Fair Skin With Cool Undertones

Whatever hair color you have, it should highlight whatever colors are in your skin. For cooler skin undertones, we recommend sunset tones like pink and orange.

Fair Skin With Warm Undertones

If you have a golden glow, mermaid vibes will be the perfect fit for you. Choose pastels like lavender, blue, and aqua.

Medium Skin With Cool Undertones

For more tan skin, vibrant and saturated tones are what is going to look good. We like jewel tones like fuchsia, magenta, and ruby. This is because darker skin looks too washed out when you have a pastel shade hair color. By adding more saturated hues, you can enhance your skin tone.

Medium Skin With Warm Undertones

For medium skin with warm tones, try jewel tones like green and blue. Definitely play up those mermaid vibes with matching turquoise or blue hair. The more saturated the better since it will highlight your warm skin tone. You can even try pink as well!

Dark Skin With Cool Undertones

Purples look amazing on cool-toned African-American skin. Especially with curly textures, purple looks absolutely incredible. Purple tones tend to act like neutrals so you won’t have any limitations when picking out an outfit.

Dark Skin With Warm Undertones

Don’t count deep hues like dark purple and ruby out. These colors are going to be the most flattering. Dark shades bring out beautiful warm undertones in dark skin. These colors are also super trendy so you’re destined to turn some heads!
