Just follow these quick steps and you’re on your way to looking like your favorite celebrity!
A Few Things You’ll Need:
- Set of clip-in hair extensions
- Paddle brush
- Teasing comb
- Hairspray or dry shampoo (optional)
- Clip or hair tie
Step #1:
Brush your hair with a paddle brush to make sure you don’t have any knots or tangles. Make a clean section at the nape of your neck using a teasing comb and clip the rest of your hair out of the way on top of your head.
Step #2:
Use the teasing comb to tease your hair at the base to create a stronger hold for the extensions. If you feel you need extra hold, spray hairspray or dry shampoo.
Step #3:
Take your first 2-clip weft and attach it just below where you sectioned your hair. Clip in the middle clip first so your weft will be centered and snap the clips shut. Let your hair down to prepare for the next section.
Step #4:
Section hair at mid-earlobe then tease at the base. Clip-in your 3-clip weft, starting with the middle clip first.
Step #5
Section hair at the top of your earlobe then tease at the base. Clip in your 4-clip weft, or longest weft available, since this is the largest part of your head.
Step #6:
Section hair on one side of your head, then tease at the base. Clip in your 1-clip weft, then repeat on the other side of your head. If you have shorter layers, clip the wefts in at an angle, so the hair extensions blend seamlessly with your natural hair. Repeat steps on the other side of your head.
Viola! Now you have successfully clipped in your clip-in hair extensions. Clipping in extensions may require some practice, however after a few times you should be able to clip in your full set in ten minutes or less. Depending on your hair type, you may not need a full set of extensions, so you can customize these steps to be suitable for your hair.
